Announcing Visual Studio 2015 Support

A little under a month ago, Microsoft released a new version of Visual Studio into the world – Visual Studio 2015. At OnCheckin we’re proud to now say that as of August 22nd all of our build and deployment nodes are now running a copy of Visual Studio 2015 Professional ready to help you create your next awesome website or service using .Net Framework 4.6.

What does this mean for me?

If you’re yet to install Visual Studio 2015 yet you shouldn’t notice any change to how your project builds and deploys on our service. Our build nodes are also still running Visual Studio 2010, 2012, 2013 and all of your favourite addons.

If you’re wanting to check it our yourself, you can give the free community edition a try by downloading it from Microsoft’s site here.

Once you’ve opened your solution up in Visual Studio 2015, you’ll be able to begin taking advantage of the new version of the .Net framework – .Net version 4.6.

If you decide to then upgrade your project to use .Net 4.6 our build nodes will be ready to help out.

Note:

For customers that call MSBuild from within their project’s msbuild targets, our build nodes now support calling the new version of MSBuild:

C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\14.0\Bin\msbuild.exe

If you have any further questions relating to our Visual Studio 2015 support, feel free to reach out to us here.
